We want out Outreach to be:
Fuelled by our love for people
as we seek to respond prayerfully to their needs.
As the people of God who gather at St. Peter & St.
John's we believe that God can and does make a
difference in people's lives and that we have a
responsibility for 'mission' to the community around us
and beyond.
We seek to do this by:
Encouraging every member to build relationships with
non-Christians and by their lives and witness sharing
their faith as opportunities arise.
Finding ways of serving and so showing the love of
Christ to the people in our community e.g. family fun
days and involvement in our local schools.
Hope 4:
'A movement backed by all the churches in Rugby and
District to tackle homelessness, providing food and hot
drinks, supplying emergency food and hygiene items,
initiating and planning to operate a Drop in Centre, and
working with the authorities to reduce homelessness.'
Overseas Mission - Bambejja Project:
Set up in October 2001 to meet the needs of destitute
girls and their families living in slum communities in
Kampala, Uganda. The majority of the girls that it
helps are between 4 and 21 years old. It is a place of
safety and refuge where the girls can be accepted and
receive care, education and training. Rugby Team
Ministry is committed to support this project through
regular prayer, financial gifts, visits to the project
and welcoming representatives from Oasis Uganda.
Refresh:
A late-night outreach to 'clubbers' in Rugby, offering
tea, coffee and chat.
